In August 2023, Bruno assumed the role of head coach for both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at MSU Denver, marking a significant milestone in his coaching career. Prior to joining MSU Denver, he showcased his coaching abilities at Midland (Neb.) in the NAIA league, where he served as head coach since the 2018-19 season. At Midland, Bruno achieved notable success, including being recognized as the 2022-23 Central Region Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and receiving the Great Plains Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award.

Bruno secured consecutive wins as the GPAC’s men’s Coach of the Year for three seasons and was honored with the GPAC Women’s Coach of the Year title in both 2022 and 2023. His teams consistently demonstrated excellence, clinching regular-season and conference championships in both 2022 and 2023.

Bruno’s journey in tennis began as a player, leading Bethany (Kan.) to the NAIA National Tournament in consecutive years, 2015 and 2016, and securing back-to-back Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season championships. Recognized for his skills, he earned Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) second team honors in both seasons and was bestowed the KCAC Newcomer of the Year award in 2015.

Prior to his success in the United States, Bruno established himself as a formidable junior tennis player in Brazil and participated in several ITF tournaments in South America, enhancing his experience and expertise in the sport.

Bruno is enthusiastic about collaborating with local clubs, organizations, and enthusiasts to foster opportunities for tennis development, outreach programs, and community engagement initiatives. As the head tennis coach at MSU Denver, he is excited to embark on this journey of service and partnership with the Denver tennis community.
